Auricular and Biotherapeutic Treatment

Auricular and Bioenergetic Treatment provides an energetic method of testing using the patient’s pulse and using physical material in the form of filters to detect areas of imbalance in the ear. These imbalances are detected as changes in the electrical resistance of the skin that produce irregular frequencies in the form of ‘sprays of energy’ to signals specific areas of imbalance within the body. The points that show up on the ear can either be addressed physically on the ear, or a specific remedy can be given to the person, both aimed at correcting a dysfunction in the body creating illness.

This method identifies the individual’s blockages to healing on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. These blockages are what lead to issues with auto-regulating (eg. High blood pressure), ability to adapt (eg. Auto immune disorders) and ability to self-heal (eg. Chronic Strep Throat). By correcting the blockages and individually assessing a person’s needs, one can then assist in allowing the person to return to good health. The goal is to rebalance the physiology, which inherently means there will be corrections eliminating the opportunity for pathology.

The Origins of Auricular and Bioenergetic Treatment

Dr. Paul Nogier MD, a French Neurologist along with many contributing European doctors first mapped the ear (Auricle) in the 1950’s. The initial discovery of Auriculotherapy began when several of Dr. Nogier patients claimed their sciatic pain had been relieved after cauterization of points on their ear by another practitioner. Dr Paul Nogier decided to investigate this phenomenon and found that points on the external ear corresponded to certain organs or systems. 

With more than fifteen years of experimentation, a map of the ear was established. Dr. Nogier then discovered he could observe changes in the distance of electric fields projected off of the ear based on damage or blockages in the body through a reflex mechanism of action, brain transmitting to ear. After mapping the ear, he and his colleagues could determine through these electrical changes where the blockages were in the body for each individual.

Next came Auriculomedicine and the discovery of the VAS (Nogier’s Pulse). Based on Dr. Nogier’s experience with acupuncture, he began to take his patients' pulse while examining their ears. He demonstrated variations of pulse, primarily pulse amplitude, when he touched different zones of the ear. He called this change in the pulse the Vascular Autonomic Signal (VAS). 

New Filters to Reach the Spiritual Blockages

Further advancements came from Dr. Nogier student, Dr. Mikhael Adams ND. 

Dr. Adams refined the assessment process with the introduction of a filtering procedure to  identify the source of the blockage in the body. 

Dr. Adams also recognized the expression of spiritual blockages and created filters to identify when those blockages were present. 

During Dr. Adams’ 40 years of work, he integrated another French based system called Biotherpaeutic drainage with his use of Auriculomedicine. Through the drainage principles and use of Homeopathy, Oligotherapy, Gemmotherapy and Phytotherapy he added utility to  reverse the blockages in the body as detected through the ear. 

He named the collective use and refinements of Auriculotherapy, Auriculomedicine, and Biotherapeutic drainage, Auricular and Bioenergetic “Medicine”.

Biotherapeutic drainage has been utilized in Europe for over 70 years. It is a unique philosophy and methodology devised to eliminate toxins and regulate the proper functioning of the organs, tissues and glands.

Biotherapeutic drainage is a physiological action that facilitates the organism’s natural tendency to eliminate toxins, without aggression or without forcing the body’s natural ability to eliminate. Drainage acts on three levels: at the cell, tissue and organ level. 

Drainage is very different than detoxification. 

With detoxification, the body is forced to release its’ toxins into the bloodstream. The body may or may not be able to eliminate these toxins through the main routes of elimination, called emunctories. 

If the emunctories are not working correctly, the body will store these toxins again. 

With drainage, the remedies stimulate the body by increasing the function of the organs and restoring the natural routes of elimination, ensuring the toxins have an efficient and safe route to be eliminated.

Drainage routes are separated into two categories: primary, which includes the (liver, kidney, intestines, lungs) and secondary routes of elimination (such as the skin, mucus membranes, nose and genitals). 

When the primary routes are not functioning adequately, the secondary routes are recruited in order to facilitate elimination of toxic material. When any emunctory isn’t functioning efficiently, unnatural accumulation of toxins is the result.

 In today’s world, an individual is faced with environmental toxins (air and water pollution), dietary toxins (pesticides, herbicides, hormones, antibiotics), chronic stress, pharmaceutical drugs as well as any lifestyle habits (alcohol, tobacco, junk foods, drugs). 

The body is not capable of breaking down chemicals and processed foods etc, thus these toxins are stored. As a result, waste begins to build up. The body, in its wisdom, tries to store these toxins first in the fat tissue, then connective tissue, muscles, tendons, veins and arteries. The body may develop stones, tumors, skin conditions, ulcers, chronic infections, autoimmune diseases, chronic fatigue etc. as the body attempts to deal with the toxins. 

In a healthy system, the primary routes are working at an optimum level and toxins are eliminated by the primary emunctories.
